Subject

Task

English - Writing

Visit: http://www.pobble365.com/

Each day Pobble uploads a picture, and below that you will find some tasks that relate to it. Use the picture to inspire your own daily writing, or simply follow one (or more) of the tasks. I would recommend doing one piece of writing a day!

We would love to see the work you produce – please bring it in for display when we return!

English – Handwriting

Remember all your writing should remain neat and joined! Completing tasks in the handwriting booklet that was sent home with you will help to maintain and improve your writing. I would recommend completing one page a day!

English – Grammar & Punctuation

Visit: https://kids.classroomsecrets.co.uk/

Log in to your account, using the information attached to this sheet. Find the Year 4 > GPS section, and complete your chosen task there. I would recommend one task a day!

English - Spelling

Visit: https://spellingframe.co.uk/spelling-rule/3/Year-3-and-4

As you will know, this is the website that we run our weekly spellings from. The site offers word lists, games, and practise tests for each week’s words – we are currently on Week 23. Proceed as normal, and practise your spellings there. I would recommend doing this for 10 minutes a day!

English – Reading

Visit: https://readtheory.org/

Log in to your account, using the information attached to this sheet. Read Theory generates a short introductory quiz, which then helps to automatically produce relevant reading exercises for you. I would recommend doing this for 20 minutes a day!

You should also continue to read your AR books, and other books that you are interested in (reading is a great thing to do before bed)! You can complete AR quizzes from home by visiting: https://ukhosted47.renlearn.co.uk/1897016

Maths

Visit: https://play.edshed.com/login

Log in to your account, using the information attached to this sheet. Find the maths section – you will find several different tasks there for you to completer. I would recommend doing one task a day!

Times Tables

Visit: https://ttrockstars.com/

Log in to your account, using the information attached to this sheet. Continue to play games and practise your times tables as you would in class! I would recommend doing this for 20 minutes a day!

Science

Visit: https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/subjects/z2pfb9q

Here you will find videos, games and information about all of our Science topics! Find some you recognise and have a go at them! I would particularly recommend the 5 learner guides in the “Digestive System” area (https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/topics/z27kng8) – as this is what we are exploring at the moment!

History

Visit: https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/topics/zqtf34j

Here you will find videos, games and information about our current History topic – The Roman Empire. I would recommend exploring all 5 of the learner guides!

(If you fancy doing something more creative – why not research Roman weapons and shields, then make your own! If you do, please bring them in to show the class!)

Computing

Visit: https://lightbot.com/flash.html (or download the app for your phone/tablet)

Work through the programming levels on this fun game! We have tried it before in class – see if you can beat your record OR complete the game by the time we come back to school (bring a screenshot to show me)!

PE

Engage in your favourite physical activity OR start to learn a new one!

Maybe you could challenge yourself to see how many keepie-uppies can you do by the time we come back? Could you learn to juggle? Can you invent a new game involving balloons? Take some photos and bring them in to show us!

Joe Wicks is uploading FREE daily workouts for kids via his YouTube channel! Tune in live each weekday at 9am and join in, or watch them at any time after via: https://www.youtube.com/user/thebodycoach1/videos

A very full curriculum can be accessed through Twinkl, and these are collected in our subject areas below:

https://kids.classroomsecrets.co.uk/ This is a brand new online, or app-based, learning environment, set up by Classroom Secrets – another great teacher’s website. It encompasses maths, reading, and grammar, punctuation and spelling.

https://www.mathplayground.com/ This website offers engaging maths games for children, based on their year group. At the moment, I would recommend children play as many of the fractions and decimals games as they can – or go back over areas we have covered previously.

https://mathsframe.co.uk/ This website, like the above, also offers maths games (as well as worksheets) which will help to keep the children’s knowledge up to date. At the moment, I would recommend children play as many of the fractions and decimals games as they can – or go back over areas we have covered previously.

https://www.topmarks.co.uk/maths-games/7-11-years/ordering-and-sequencing-numbers This website, like the above, also offers maths games (as well as worksheets) which will help to keep the children’s knowledge up to date. At the moment, I would recommend children play as many of the fractions and decimals games as they can – or go back over areas we have covered previously.
