Activities to try at home...
Found within the following pages are a variety of fun and challenging activities that can be tried out by children (and adults) at home - resources permitting! Some of these resources have been provided by The Primary Science Teaching Trust and Science Sparks.
Within the Fun At Home folder, each two page sheet has activities that are:
The Primary Science Teaching Trust also has other science activities which could be used with children at home. However please note that these practical activities require adult involvement and supervision.
The activities can be found in the Engineering Our World and Challenge Chasers folders.
Engineering Our World - 8 engineering challenges and fact sheets which introduce famous scientists, engineers and artists.
Challenge Chasers - 8 science activities for older primary children (ages 7-11 years).
Please remember parents, these challenges require supervision. Please ensure that any risk has been assessed appropriately before commencing.
To make it easier, I have also uploaded some of the activities that I have previously shared to our Healthy Active Facebook page. These can be found in the Lego Challenge and STEM Challenge folders.
I hope that you all have fun and enjoy the challenges. Good luck!
Virtual Science Photo Competition 2019-20
Unfortunately this year we won't be able to physically host a photo competition, so I thought that we could hold a virtual one instead. To enter, children need to take a scientific photo (only the science within the photo please - nothing else) and email it to: firstname.lastname@example.org
Please include a short description of the science involved in the photo.
Deadline for entries will be Friday 15th May.
