Week 3 - The Three Little Pigs

Monday 4th May

This week's challenges will be based on The Three Little Pigs.

Phonics: Please keep practising your phonics every day and continue to work through the Phase 3 sounds at your own speed. There are lots of Phase 3 resources available in the Phonics Phase 3 section. Have a go at the tricky words too.

Reading: It is important that you continue to read every day. Try reading ‘The Three Little Pigs’ every day with your mum or dad so you know the story really well.  Sound out some of the words by yourself.

Drama: Could you act out the story using the role play masks?

Writing: Can you write a simple sentence linked to the story? How did the little pigs feel when their houses were being attacked by the big, bad wolf? Could you design a ‘Wanted’ poster for the big, bad wolf? Get mummy or daddy to take a photo of it and send it to me or put it on EExAT.

Maths: Keep practising writing your numbers to 20. Try some number sequencing or the addition and subtraction problems. Could you make your own number sentences using pictures of the pigs or the wolf?

For example:

There are lots of maths resources in the ‘Three Little Pigs’ folder. Email me a photo of you working or upload it to EExAT.

Understanding The World: If you can find any straw, wood or bricks – could you try building small scale houses? You might need adult support.

Art & Design: Can you design and paint your own house? Could you add small sticks, sand or straw to your pictures to create different textures?

Lucky Dip: Surprise me! Send me a photo or video of you learning to do something that I wouldn't expect!

Good luck! yes
