Term 3

Week 5 - This week, we have been drafting our own postcards to Miss Vedamuttu to tell her about our experience with Creepy Claws. In Maths, we have been looking at 3D Shapes. In Science, we have been looking at the importance of a healthy diet. In DT, we have been practising a running stitch to attach our felt to our fabric. In PE, we have been working on our co-ordination and balance skills. In RE, we recapped the stories we have learnt about Good News and did a freeze frame of which one we like the best and why.

Week 4 - This week, we started looking at the features of postcards and recounting some events. We recieved a post card from the Year 6 pupils and we replied back to them. In Maths, we have been learning about the properties of 2D shapes. In DT, we created some stencils of the landmarks from the UK cities. In Geography, we went to the capital cities of the United Kingdom and experienced some traditional foods and created their landmarks. We then discussed which city we would want to visit the most.

Week 3 - This week, in English we have been finishing our non-chronological reports about nocturnal animals. Keep a look out next week for some pictures of our finished pieces. In Maths, we have been looking at at adding and subtracting crossing 10s. In DT, we were introduced to the textile artist William Morris and printed our own stamp onto fabric. In RE, we discussed the story of the Ten Lepers. We created our own interpretation of the story and the importance of saying thank you to God. In Geography, we were looking at the London Underground in the Capital City of London. We had a special visitor from a Year 4 child who taught us loads of amazing facts.

Week 2 - This week, we had a special visit from Creepy Claws to help us learn facts about some nocturnal animals when we write our non-chronological reports. In Maths, we have been adding two 2 digit numbers not crossing 10. In DT, we have been weaving our own looms to help us prepare for our running stitches over the next few weeks. In PE, we have been looking at the important of health and fitness and why our hearts are important. In RE, we looked at the good news of Jarius' daughter.

Week 1 - This week, we started to find 10 more and 10 less in Maths. In English, we started reading our new class book 'The Owl who was afraid of the dark' by Jill Tomlinson. We have started to look at features of a non-chronological report. In Computing. we looked at the E-Safety behind Emails and how to stay safe.In Science, we introduced Animals including humans and what we know about our bodies. In Geography, we used our compass skills to get from the four different countries in the United Kingdom. In PE, we have been using our cognitive skills and learning how to be a good sportman.
