Mrs Slater's spelling group - Year 2 words rule 30
Miss Sewell, Mrs Slater and Mrs Clark support the Epic Eagles with their learning and we promise lots of fun and smiles in return for the best efforts of the children and excellent learning.
We make lessons exciting, fun and engaging based on Cornerstones topics that the children chose at the beginning of the year. We encourage children to record their learning in a variety of ways including writing, drawing and filming.
Homework has changed for the summer terms.
Children are still expected to read every day and have the opportunity to read to an adult at least once a week. Children should make sure they bring their AR book to school every day.
Spellingframe has all the spelling rules that are taught throughout the year. It has a practice area and a game area. I will update the class page each week with the spelling rule that should be practiced for that week. I will also tell the children so that they know which rule to focus on.
Maths homework will be set in a variety of ways. This may consist of an investigation, a booklet to work through or a game to consolidate knowledge.
Mathsframe will be the main website for games. Please check the class page to see which are of maths we are consolidating.
This term gym will take place on a Monday or Thursday.
We are also lucky enough to have a cricket coach teach is key skills for the game on a Wednesday. Let's hope that the weather is kind to us!
Please make sure PE kits are in school at all times as PE days may change to suit the timetable.
Please make sure children have water bottles and sun hats in this hot weather! Also, we hope to take advantage of the sunshine and complete as much outside learning as possible so make sure sun cream is applied before school.
Parents are always welcome in the classroom to share their children's learning. Just see Miss Sewell to arrange a date and time.
The year is flying by and I am sure the summer term will be the same.
Thank you for your continued support - The Year 3 Team
