‘Unlocking love for lifelong learning for God, self and for others’

Year 3

Miss Sewell, Mrs Slater, Mrs Clark and Miss Swann support the Epic Eagles with their learning and we promise lots of fun and smiles in return for the best efforts of the children and excellent learning.

We make lessons exciting, fun and engaging based on Cornerstones topics that the children chose at the beginning of the year.  We encourage children to record their learning in a variety of ways including writing, drawing and filming.

Homework

At home we expect children to read every day and have the opportunity to read to an adult at least once a week.  Children should make sure they bring their AR book to school everyday.

Mathletics homework will be set every Friday to consolidate the week’s learning.

Spellodrome word lists will be set every Friday linked to the spelling sound of the week.

Children are expected to complete activities on Spellodrome and Mathletics by the following Friday before the next task is set.  If activities are not completed, children will be encouraged to attend homework club.

Sometimes, children will bring home additional homework if they need a little bit of extra support.

PE

Fundamental skills will be taught on a Tuesday and dance on a Thursday.  Please make sure PE kits stay in school all term as PE days may change.

Parents are always welcome in the classroom to share their children’s learning with them.  Just see Miss Sewell to arrange a date and time.

We are looking forward to a fun filled year and hope that you are too.  Keep checking back on our page to see some of our hard work.
