Catholic & Spiritual Life of our School

Our School Prayer

Loving Father

Please guide us, as you guided Peter to be your rock;

may we show FAITH in Jesus as Peter did,

let our RESPECT for others shine through in all that we do and,

help us to LOVE one another as Peter loved you.

Fr Graziano de Palma was born on the 31st July 1976 in Molfetta, a small town near Bari, one of the main cities of Puglia in southern Italy, on the Adriatic Coast. After high school, he moved in 1996 to Rome where he attended the Seminary of Missionaries of Precious Blood and started his priestly formation, studying with the Jesuits at the Pontifical Gregorian University. In 1998 he completed his Bachelors degree in Philosophy, and in 2001 his Bachelors degree in Theology.

He moved back to the south of Italy for his pastoral experience in Putignano near Bari. There he worked for 5 years serving in a therapeutic community helping drug addicts. In 2004 he was ordained Deacon and then Priest on 29th April 2006.

Fr Graziano was then engaged in many different apostolates, mainly with youth as Spiritual Assistant of AGESCI, the Catholic association of Italian Scouting. Then he was Assistant Priest in two communities, in Messina, Sicily and Bari, Puglia where he was also a teacher of religion in a private junior school.

In March 2015 he arrived at Saint Peter’s, Woolwich, as a student of English. In March 2016 he completed his Degree in Psychology at the University of Bari and in June 2019 he completed a first level Master in Counselling with Psychosynthesis Trust in London. Fr Graziano served as Assistant Priest at St Peter’s Parish and Chaplain at St Peter’s Primary School in Woolwich, Foundation Governor at Notre Dame Primary School, Shooters Hill, Supply Priest at St Lawrence’s, Sidcup and Parochial Administrator at St Mary’s Magdalen in Mortalke before to be appointed as Parish Priest at the Sacred Heart, Sittingbourne.

Supporting Local and Global Charities

Feed the hungry and help those in trouble. Then your light will shine out from the darkness, and the darkness around you will be as bright as noon.

Isaiah 58:10

At St Peter's, we support both local and global charities throughout the year. Take a look at some of the fundraising we have done in the past.

Our Liturgy Team

We are all responsible for the Catholic mission of our school. Pope Francis says, "Dear young people, do not be afraid of Christ and his Church! For there we find the treasure that fills life with joy."  We are proud to have a developing RE team; this is made up of Mrs Farley-Hills, the RE Lead for the school, Mrs Jennings, Mrs Baker and ten dedicated pupils.

The Archdiocese of Southwark

St Peter's Catholic Primary School is proud to be in the Archdiocese of Southwark.  The catherdral at the heart of the archdiocese is St George's Cathedral and the Archbishop is the Most Reverend John Wilson (appointed June 2019).
