World Book Day 2021
As we are at home this year for World Book Day, children will have the opportunity to enjoy any book they wish from their own collections. They could:
- Choose their favourite book, find a quiet, comfortable spot and enjoy reading it again.
- Dress up as the main character or a character from any book.
- Draw a picture of the main character.
- Make character fridge magnets - simply sketch out, colour in and cut the characters and pop a magnet on the back.
- Write a simple review of the story - did they like it? Why?
- Make a mask of a character in their favourite book.
- Make a book of their own - it could be a wordless book like 'Journey'.
Parents, if you are not sure what to do, below you will find a selection of ideas linked to different books. If you have any of these books at home, your child could read it with you and then they could try some of the activities.
The main thing is to enjoy yourselves and have fun!
