Week 1
PE
In PE, children have been becoming more aware of their physicality. We passed and received balls, using an underarm motion. We then practiced our catching skills by bouncing the ball off of a stationary object.
Art
We explored the life and works of Bridget Riley. We learnt how Bridget was famous for her use of lines in her artwork and how this developed her range of optical illusion art. We then had a go at creating our own version.
Computing
Mrs. Crosby became a programmer in our first coding lesson. Children became robots and followed Mrs. Crosby's instructions carefully to represent an algorithm.
Science - parts of a plant
We began our block on plants by examining and identifying the various parts of a plant.
Maths
We have been measuring classroom objects using a non standard unit of measurement. We chose to use multi-link cubes.
