Welcome

On behalf of governors, staff and pupils, welcome to St Peter’s Catholic Primary School website, created to share a snapshot of our school and parish (Sacred Heart) here in Sittingbourne. We hope that the site will give you useful information as well as keeping you informed about our school and what goes on, in and around it!

Although we are a Catholic school we do not simply offer an education to Catholic children, but a Catholic education welcoming children of all faiths and beliefs who are ready to embrace our Mission Statement and its values and aims.

We are very proud of our school community; it is a friendly, vibrant, happy place where everyone is valued. We aim to make sure that everyone who comes through our doors, for whatever purpose, experiences the warmth and love of Christ who is at the heart of all that we do. The unique worth of each child is celebrated and nurtured so that all our children are empowered to fulfil their potential whatever their gifts or talents.

We prepare our children to enjoy life to the full; introducing them to as many different, challenging and enjoyable experiences as possible. We seek to extend our learning environment beyond the classroom; offering a rich curriculum provision. The school day is extended at both ends with a variety of clubs to suit everyone. We place great importance on Music and PE; taking every opportunity to participate in both local and national events. Our children are enabled to develop into spiritually aware, articulate, literate and numerate young people ready to access all that life has to offer.

We strive for excellence and enjoyment in all that we do; have high academic standards and rigorous, consistent expectations of good behaviour. Great importance is placed on the spiritual, social, cultural and moral development of our children. As a Healthy School we encourage all children to make healthy choices. St Peter’s is an inclusive school; placing high priority on the care, respect and dignity of all individuals in the school community and beyond. We value the contribution everyone makes to our school.

Educating our young people is a joint venture and partnership between parents, parish and school. We educate for life, and in partnership with parents and our parish, we endeavour to develop in our children the necessary skills to enable them to be strong in faith, caring members of their communities and global citizens in the 21st century. The success of our mission depends on everyone in our school community.

You are welcome to visit our school and see us at our work and play.
