‘A love for God, ourselves and others’

Week 1

History - A Nurse Visit

To begin our history topic - Florence Nightingale - we welcomed Sister Saunders to Bethlehem Class. She gave us lots of information about being a nurse, as well as introducing us to same facts about 'the lady of the lamp' herself. Sister Saunders even brought some of her equipment in to let us have a go at hearing our heart beat and measuring our pulse. Thank you so much Sister Saunders for giving us your time and knowledge, we really enjoyed it! smiley

'Bossy' Verbs

In English, we have learning about imperative verbs. We had a go at identifying the bossy verbs in a range of instructions, before sequencing the instructions in the correct order.

Year 1 examined a range pf fruit and vegetables, before trying to sort them. They were very surprised to hear that peppers and tomatoes are classed as fruit, due to their seeds! They also got to taste test a variety of healthy fruit and veg smiley
