Reading

Here at St Peter's we encourage a love of reading and ask that,at home, children read everyday.  Ideally children will read aloud to an adult to support their pronunciation, understanding of the vocabulary and story line while being questioned in the style of VIPERS by the adult.   Click here for Accerlated Reader.

Spellings

We will ask children to practise their spelling rule at home using the spellings which will be given to them via Seesaw.  They can do this in many different ways: look, say, cover, write, check and correct; finding the words in a dictionary; writing sentences including the spellings or even by being tested by family/friends reading them aloud for them to write down or spell aloud.

Times Tables

As the year progresses we will encourage children to use Times Tables Rocks Stars at home to practise.  Children can also also use songs and verbal rehearsal as well.  Click here for Times Table Rock Stars.

Any other homework will be sent out on a weekly basis via Seesaw, this may include revising of GPS skills which have been taught during the previous week aiming at cementing their understanding of those concepts further.
