‘A love for God, ourselves and others’

Week 4

This week in dance, we were mimicking the movement of silk. We had a 'conductor' or 'choreographer' who moved the silk around in the air and we had to copy the silk's movements.

Today we learnt how to count in binary and completed a challenge on the computer using this new knowledge.

Our waistcoats are really starting to take shape! We have sewn all our pieces together now, using overstitch to create the seams!

In geography, we worked in groups to find out information about the Three Gorges Dam in China.

In science, we learnt about natural selection. We did a 'candy evolution' activity where we saw which type of prey would survive best in the year six classroom: sultanas or smarties. Unsurprisingly, the smarties went extinct and the sultanas survived best! We then read a book called 'The Molliebird' and ended by showing our understanding of natural selection through puppet shows!
